No information regarding a client/supervisee will be shared or distributed.
exceptions to confidentiality
Under the following conditions it may be necessary to disclose information pertaining to a client/supervisee:
If in Alex’s judgement a client/supervisee poses a risk of harm to themselves or to others.
If a client/supervisee reports information indicating that a vulnerable person is suffering neglect or abuse.
If appropriate & only after seeking consent from the client/supervisee, it is felt necessary to consult with a treating clinician, therapist, other care provider, social services, employer, supervisor/manager, professional body or the police.
In some cases Alex’s work will take place as part of a client’s wider clinical/therapeutic team. In such cases it may be useful for Alex to participate in team meetings, reflective practice groups & supervision sessions.
Alex will anonymise all references to a client/supervisee in any other reflective practice or supervision space.
Contact Details:
All clients are asked to give contact details for their primary physician &/or their primary therapist/care provider &/or a family member/close friend/partner.
If an organisation employs Alex as a supervisor, contact details for someone with clinical oversight over the supervisee(s) must be provided.
If individuals contract Alex as their supervisor, Alex may reach out to the supervisee’s professional body or an organisation they work for.

local authority safeguarding services
a client’s GP
a client’s primary mental health provider or therapist
the police
a supervisee’s professional body
a supervisee’s therapeutic/clinical line manager
