the impact of covid - unrelenting stress

The experiences above are very normal signs of a nervous system trying to manage unrelenting stress.

‘Unrelenting stress’ has been the experience of many who’ve worked through the pandemic and although we can’t make the ‘pandemic years’ disappear, we can help each other recover from their impact.

support is available

If you’re suffering and curious about what support is available, please reach out to your local Staff Wellbeing Hub:

The Hub will invite you to chat with an experienced therapist and together you can work out a package of resources to meet your particular needs. For some this might include the Yoga on Prescription service.

yoga on prescription

Yoga on Prescription sessions are best thought of as a combination of body psychotherapy and psychoeducation.

During an initial assessment session Alex will talk with you about her work and answer questions you have about how various yoga practices might be of help. You’ll also be invited share any experiences you’re troubled by especially those felt through your body, and any goals you’d like to achieve.

In subsequent sessions you’ll have an opportunity to explore body based practices to support your sense of safety, stability and connectedness. If it’s of interest you’ll also be able to learn about why your system is responding as it is.

Please be reassured that the sessions are suitable for any level of flexibility, fitness, strength and balance.

  • No special clothes or equipment needed

  • Offered 1-1 on Zoom

  • Sessions may be taken in any space where you won’t be disturbed and where you have enough room to stand and sit with your legs and arms outstretched

After an initial package of 8, hour long sessions you will have the option of continuing sessions or else of reconnecting with the Staff Wellbeing Hub to explore something new.
